草间弥生北美展:现代幻想曲
草间弥生的北美巡展从今年的西雅图始,秋天到了洛杉矶的Broad Museum。只有寥寥几个博物馆获得展览许可,这是西海岸唯二的展点。九月一号上午十点半就开始刷票,十二点正式放票,我已然拍到了两万多名。五万张票在几个小时之内发光了,我们今天才得以来到博物馆门口排队,六个房间,每个房间三十秒钟,一共三分钟。为了这三分钟,无数人站在门口stand by羡慕地看着我们。 草间弥生的名字早就听说过了,但对她的作品没什么印象。我觉得她的作品之所以长盛不衰是因为恰好带有了一种现代性,大量的重复(波点的重复、触手的重复等)是现代工业印刷对人类美学的一大改变,比如我家里儿子玩的这个球,跟草间弥生展览中悬挂的巨大的粉色气球没有什么区别。这种现代性让观众觉得是可以亲近的,觉得是生活中走出来的样子。 波尔卡圆点在现代生活中随处可见 草间弥生的波尔卡 然而,圆点和重复对草间弥生自己来说,却是自己眼中的人间。由于从小受到精神疾病的困扰,她眼中的世界就像一张巨大的网格点,她说:“我认为地球是圆点,月亮是圆点,太阳也是原点。”她的精神世界每日都在巨大的、重复的圆点中,而她选择把这些东西画出来,以直面自己的恐惧。我很好奇精神病人的世界,觉得他们在我们大多数人看来虽然是不正常的,但往往就是这些“不正常”和“少数”的东西,成为了我们常人世界中的艺术,比如梵高,比如舒曼。 今天看的六个房间,五个是“无限镜面”系列,第一个房间是女儿最喜欢的,无数盏晶莹的灯漂浮在五个镜面之间。我问她为什么喜欢,六岁的她说:“因为像宇宙。”她一下子就明白了草间弥生的想法。孩子最能理解艺术家的内心,因为他们都是本真的。我有点后悔三十秒的时间都浪费在拍照上(其实也拍不了几张),我应该把时间留在幻想上,像《黑镜》里的San Junipero,一个不明不白的说不清是生前还是死后的世界,时间凝固的地方,在这里人们纵容自己的幻想,生活在没有重力、没有时间、没有现实的世界中,哪怕这世界稍纵即逝。 无限镜面房间 展览的外面的墙上,草间弥生的话贴在靠近天花板的地方:“ Our earth is only one polka dot among a million stars in the cosmos.” 这是她的世界,而我们只不过是一点中的一芥中的两三粒而已。
